2021 Summer Reading Program "Tails and Tales"

Summer Reading Program

Ages 2 - 12

June 1 - July 30, 2021

Events and Activities:

Read: Starting June 1, stop in the library to pick up a Reading Log Folder and start reading. If you complete all six weeks, you will earn a free book of your choice! Your name will also be entered into prize drawings for great prizes.

Take-and-Makes: Each week there will be a new craft and a short demonstration by Ms. Hanna on Facebook. If you would like to share your completed craft, just post a photo on our Facebook page. Ms. Hanna will also be available, weather permitting, to craft outside with you! Just come to the library entrance from 1-3 pm, Wednesdays: June 9, 16, 23 and July 7, 14, 21.  One project per child, please (40 craft kits available).

Family Night Storytime: Thursdays 6:15-6:45 pm June 10, 17, 24 and July 8, 15, 22


Sunshine & Stories at the Spillman:  Fridays at 10:00-10:30 am June 11, 18, 25 and July 9, 16, 23 Weather permitting, we will meet at the library entrance. Please bring a lawn chair. If the weather doesn’t permit outside storytime, we will meet inside.

Special Guests:

READ Dogs (Reading, Education and Assistance Dogs) at the Spillman:  1:15-2:15 pm Wednesdays June 9, 16, 23 and July 14. Stop in at the library and sign up for a 10-minute reading session while the dogs are here.

Live Animal Handler “Dino” from Nature’s Niche: Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Village Park (located at 144 Winnebago Street, NFDL)           

Exciting hands-on animal program featuring exotic animals!

On Track Readers Book Club Meetings: In Person (or contact me to Zoom)

Our On Track Readers will resume meeting in person for this meeting.  We also have a Zoom option available, so participants are able to join right from their own homes with their computers, tablets, or phones!*

Craft Take-and-Make Projects
